IMAP setup

 

Setting email account on outlook

Incoming Server IMAP setup

User information  --- your name – email address –
Server information – IMAP – incoming mail server – imap.1and1.com – outgoing mail server – smtp.1and1.com
Logon information – username is your given email created --- password is your password. ---- check remember password
Click on more settings tab on bottom right hand.
Outgoing server tab – check my outgoing server (SMTP) required authentication – dot on use same settings as my incoming mail server
Advanced Tab – Incoming server (IMAP) 993 – sue the following the of encrypted connection : – SSL  ----- Outgoing server (SMTP) 587 – use the following type of connection: TLS

Iincoming server (POP3)

pop.1and1.com
Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.1and1.com
User name is your email address
password is your password

Please note:

To send e-mail using the SMTP-Server, activate SMTP Authentication.

Please do not use the Secure Password Authentication (SPA) option.

Port 587 to be used instead of the default port (25)

To Configure Microsoft Outlook Express:

1. Open Outlook Express and click Tools and choose Accounts

2. Select the Mail tab. Click Add and choose Mail....

3. Enter a Display Name and click Next.

4. Enter the e-mail address and click Next.

5. Choose POP3 and enter the following:
Incoming mail: pop.1and1.com
Outgoing mail: smtp.1and1.com
and click Next.

6. Enter the e-mail address. If you want the system to remember the password, check
the box near Remember Password and enter the password. Click Next.
(Note: Make sure the box near "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" is Unchecked)

7. Click Finish.

8. Now highlight the account in Internet Account box and click on Properties.

9. Choose the Servers tab. Check My server requires authentication. Click Settings

10. Choose Use same settings as my incoming mail server and click OK.

Click Apply and OK and close the Internet Accounts window.

To config Microsoft Outlook 2003:

1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2003. Click Tools and select E-mail Accounts...

2. Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.

3. Choose POP3 and click Next.

4. Enter the information highlighted in green.
(User Name: your E-mail address)
Incoming mail: pop.1and1.com
Outgoing mail: smtp.1and1.com
Click More Settings. (Note: Make sure the box near "Log on using Secure
Password Authentication (SPA)" is Unchecked)

5. Select Outgoing Server tab then check My Outgoing server (SMTP) requires
authentication. and choose Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

Click OK then Next and Finish

To configure Microsoft Outlook 2007:

1. From Microsoft Office Outlook, select Account Configuration. Select Yes and select Next

2. Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types then select Next.

3. Select Internet E-mail and select Next.

4. Select IMAP as the Account Type. Fill in the correct information and select More Settings....

5. Select POP as the Account Type.
Incoming mail: pop.1and1.com
Outgoing mail: smtp.1and1.com
(User Name: your E-mail address)-- password
Fill in the correct information and select "More Settings" button.

6. Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and turn on "Use same settings as my incoming mail server". Select OK.

Port 587 to be used instead of the default port (25)

7. Test Account Settings button will test email config to see that the process has been completed.
